A conversation on women artists and patrons for Women’s History Month.
Women’s participation in the visual arts has historically been undervalued, but new research and new approaches to art history are increasingly uncovering women’s contributions as professional artists and patrons of the arts. Dr Leah Clark and Dr Amy Lim will discuss how women overcame the legal and social constraints of patriarchal society, consider how this changed across the centuries, and explore the relationship between women artists and women patrons.
This lecture is free, and open to all.
Refreshments will be served from 5 pm in the Kellogg Hub. The talk will be followed by a drinks reception.
