Kellogg student awarded OMMS Mathematical Prize for outstanding academic achievement
Kellogg is pleased to announce that Johan Slettengren, MSc candidate in Mathematical Sciences (OMMS), has been awarded the OMMS Mathematical Prize in recognition of his exceptional academic performance.
Originally from Stockholm, Sweden, Johan is currently studying on the OMMS course, with a focus on partial differential equations and deep learning. While these may appear to be distinct areas of study, his dissertation explores the deep theoretical and practical connections between the two fields.
Speaking about the award, Johan said: ‘Receiving the OMMS Mathematical Prize is a great honour, and I am very grateful for this recognition. The award is a valuable affirmation of my academic work and a strong encouragement going forward, as I pursue a career in mathematical research. My year in Oxford has not only been academically rewarding, but also filled with lasting memories and friendships. I would like to extend a special thanks to the Kellogg kitchen for keeping me well fed, freeing up more time to think about mathematics.’
Johan will be formally presented with his certificate at the Department of Mathematical Sciences’ Annual Celebration at the start of the Michaelmas term. We congratulate Johan on this achievement and wish him continued success in his future academic endeavours.
